State-of-the-art dental care

At our advanced dentistry, our team at LDA provides patients with state-of-the-art dental care using the latest technology in dentistry. As part of our commitment to providing our patients with exceptional care, we’re proud to offer laser dentistry for the continued improvement our your oral health. LASER stands for “light amplification by the stimulated emission of radiation.” The tool generates light energy in an incredibly narrow and focused beam. This laser light causes tissue to react, enabling our team to remove and reshape gum tissue as needed.

A more comfortable treatment

Laser dentistry provides patients with a more comfortable treatment when dealing with various procedures that involve hard and soft tissue in the mouth.

Similar to how we track moles and freckles on our skin to monitor for early signs of skin cancer, a professional oral cancer screening monitors oral colors, texture, and injuries for early signs of oral cancer. Oral cancer can be caused by tobacco use, viruses, or genetic, so an oral cancer screening is needed for every person. Signs you should tell your provider about include: any sores in your mouth that take longer than two weeks to heal, persistent hoarseness in your throat, or any changes in color or texture that you notice between visits.

The results we see are: decreased bleeding, decreased swelling (fewer periodontal pockets), and less tenderness.

We also use the laser frequently to assist in periodontal therapy (deep cleanings). This is called laser-assisted periodontal therapy (LAPT). By significantly reducing the bacteria and removing the diseased tissue, we see more predictable healing and shorter healing times.
